BioDynamic Breathwork & Trauma Release System® (BBTRS)

I am a certified practitioner of the BioDynamic Breathwork & Trauma Release System® (BBTRS). I offer one-on-one sessions and group experiences of this modality.

BBTRS is a therapeutic approach that uses breath as a main tool with the help of supporting elements such as movement, touch, sound, conscious emotional expression and meditation to support trauma release and healing on the somatic level. BioDynamic Breathwork heals trauma by releasing core tension and supporting clients to complete arrested trauma-related fight/flight or dissociated responses.

BBTRS was developed by Giten Tonkov. It has at its roots elements of Wilhelm Reich’s body-oriented therapeutic approach, combined with techniques of Peter Levine’s Trauma Healing modality. The system is based on the observation of how tension is held and distributed in the body-mind structure. It is designed to break through layers of body armoring, inviting the release of mental, emotional, and physical blockages.

Group Sessions

Together with Carmen, I offer regular group sessions in Chur. Find out more on our website, FULLY ALIVE.

1:1 Sessions

If you are interested in BBTRS, please simply reach out. Typically, we will meet for a first general assessment session. In this session, we get to know each other, I answer any questions about BBTRS you might have, and we talk about why you are interested in BBTRS and what you would like to work on. I then guide you through a first breathwork experience so you can get a sense of what BBTRS is, get to know the deep connected breathing we use as a main tool, grow breath awareness, and become familiar with your felt sense. After this experience, you decide how to proceed.

BBTRS works with seven belts of tension in the body (based on the work of Wilhelm Reich). Ideally, each belt is addressed in an individual session. However, it is possible to combine some of the belts and thus reduce the number of sessions. Furthermore, I also offer a one-time session working with what is most alive for you.

I offer sessions based on a sliding scale: 100 – 200 CHF. Give what you can and what feels an appropriate exchange of energy for you. Session duration varies depending on what arises; please reserve at least 90 minutes (120 minutes for first session).

Sessions are fully dressed. There is no intimate touch. If you are curious what a session could look like, there are some examples on the BBTRS youtube channel.

1:1 Session Location

I currently live in Malix (close to Chur), Switzerland, and offer sessions here in the region. Depending on what feels right for you, I offer sessions in my home, in a rented space, or in your own house (all you need is a space in which you feel comfortable and some form of mat / mattress / futon; I will bring anything else that is needed).
